This movie shows velocity vectors (arrows) and acoustic backscatter intensity (color scale: intensity relative to a fixed reference intensity field) from data taken during SandyDuck near the beginning of a storm on 9/21/1997. The intensity is related to bubble density in the water. A particularly large "set" of waves break, injecting a trail of bubbles from the upper left (580,1050) across to the middle right (450,750). The same set injects a detectable quantity of bubbles near (350,850). The bubbles remain visible for several minutes. The overall bubble density is increasing in time over this segment.
